Next MMA Fighter

Ah yes, it was time again to go to the Wild Bills fights up in Duluth which is a short drive from my house. The fights can be hit or miss at this event, but they do a lot of amateur fights and they fight in a ring. In my opinion the ring is better for a live event but really discounts from the sport because of the restarts that are forced due to fighters getting held up in the ring.

If Bud light and rednecks wearing tapout shirts wanting to fight everyone they see is your optimal atmosphere, you will love this place. We certainly have a great time whenever we go watching the action in and out of the ring.

It’s worth mentioning that Diego Saravia a local Atlanta guy fought here against Farkhad Sharipov who I thought dominated the fight but for some reason lost the decision. This Farkhad kid connected on strike after strike along with scoring a number of takedowns and pushing the fight so I really don’t know how he lost the decision. I wanted to mention him because he fought his ass off, and in my opinion got completely robbed.

There weren’t many surprises out of the Pro fights including one that was Jesse Forbes of former Ultimate Fighter fame that came in and beat the crap out of Vitkay who was clearly in over his head against Forbes. He got run over and was finished rather quickly, and this didnt surprise me much. As good as a fighter as Dave Vitkay might be, Jesse Forbes comes from the big show, and fights out of Arizona Combat Sports.

This fight was also a major event in Georgia MMA history as what many of thought was the fight of the night, also happened to be the first pro Female fight held in the state of Georgia. Hats off to Tonya Reyes and Lizzy Miller for putting on a great fight.
