Upcoming Event | NAAFS “Fight Night at the Flats” | 6-5-10 Cleveland, OH

June 3rd, 2010 1 comment

The NAAFS is returning to the Nautica Pavilion in Cleveland, OH next Saturday June 5th for the sport’s premiere annual event Fight Nite in the Flats VI!

The rivalry between Strong Style and GriffonRawl dates back to the genesis of the NAAFS, with both of these world class gyms battling back and forth over the years to establish themselves as the dominant force in the promotion. Strong Style has produced several UFC stars & NAAFS champions, but some could argue that none have reached the level of stardom that cross town rival Jason “Dynamite” Dent (21-10) has, especially after his memorable stint on Spike TV’s Ultimate Fighter reality show. Dent returns home on June 5th to the event that he’s never lost at, looking to prove one more time that he is still the measuring stick inside the NAAFS cage. Chris “The Assassin” Lozano (9-1) has become perhaps a destructive force in the NAAFS, winning his last four fights by first round knockout, including the 2009 Knockout of the Year. The Strong Style prospect took exception with allegations that Jason Dent made about his gym and now he is looking to settle it once and for all inside the NAAFS cage. Whereas Chris Lozano is on a four fight knockout streak, Jason Dent has never been knocked out in his 30 fight career. Lozano was named a top prospect for 2010 by MMA Sports Magazine; Dent has already had multiple runs in the UFC. With tensions at an all time high, something has to give and it will in the main event of Fight Nite in the Flats VI when Chris “The Assassin” Lozano steps into battle against Jason “Dynamite” Dent in a five round war for the NAAFS Super Fight championship.

Pro Series Heavyweight Champion “Big” John Hawk (10-0-1) of Strong Style Fight Team makes the drop to Light Heavyweight against national prospect Doug Sparks (13-2) of Dragon’s Den IN. An interim Pro Series Middleweight Champion will be crowned when “Showtime” AJ Aeschlimann (8-0) takes on Brandon Ezzo (6-3) in a five round championship bout. 2009 Amateur Fighter of the Year Dane Bonnigson (9-0) of USA Martial Arts will also be making his professional debut against 2007 Amateur Heavyweight Champion Josh “Sandman” Stansbury (10-4) in a Champion vs. Champion bout. Two of the most explosive fighters in the Pro Series Middleweight division will go head’s up when Jason “Wreckin Ball” Jones (5-4) of Bloody Buddy Fight Team takes on Strong Style’s Brian “The Predator” Rogers (7-3). 2006 National Amateur Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Ellison (9-3) of Instigator Fight Team will be taking on Arm Bar MMA’s Gerric “The Silent Assassin” Hayes (4-3). 2009 National Amateur Women’s Champion Jessica Eye (5-0) of Strong Style Fight Team makes her pro debut against Michigan’s Amanda “Red Fox” LaVoy (6-1) of Cheetah Caged Combat Center.

The stars of the National Amateur Series will be in action at Fight Nite in the Flats VI as well including #1 ranked Welterweight Reggie “The Contract Killer” Parks (8-3) against #3ranked Bill Morosetti, #1 ranked Middleweight “Chocolate Thunder” Milan Wesley (5-2) takes on West Virginia’s Zac Gobel (5-1), #2 ranked Featherweight RJ Buck (6-1) faces Team DNA’s Ben “Sonic” Quigley (5-1), #1 ranked Lightweight Bryon McCroskey (7-3) faces the heavy handed Joey “The Hitman” Holt (6-4), #2 ranked Lightweight Kenny “The Black Spartan” Jackson (5-1) takes on Team Ricardo Almeida fighter Frankie Perez (6-1), the return of top female prospect “The DNA Princess” Jessica Zomcik (4-1) against the undefeated Tamikka Brents (2-0-1), former Penn State wrestlers do battle when Clint Musser (1-0) takes on Mike Putnam (1-0), Craig Wilson (5-5) steps in the cage with Cory Ruthsatz (3-3) in a Featherweight division fight, and the Bantamweights compete for the first time at a Fight Nite in the Flats when Tyler Saltsman (0-0) takes on Victor Guarriello (0-0) in their respective MMA debuts.

Come experience this MMA extravaganza for yourself on Saturday June 5th at the Nautica Pavilion in Cleveland, OH, when Bud Light & Mr. John P. Lennon present Fight Nite in the Flats VI. Tickets are on sale now by calling 330-280-8442 or logging onto www.NAAFS.tv or www.FightNiteInTheFlats.com.

The official pro fighter weigh-ins and 2010 Miss NAAFS Cage Girl Contest will be held at Barley House on W. 6th St in downtown Cleveland, OH on Friday June 4th.

The Official Fight Nite in the Flats VI After Party will be held at The Clevelander Bar & Grill immediately following the main event on Saturday June 5th.

For those outside of the who are unable to experience Fight Nite in the Flats VI live at Nautica Pavilion, the event will be aired live on internet broadcasting leader Ustream.tv and NAAFS.tv
